Businesses and Brands

Businesses and Brands 2

Hello, everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying the Rainbow Celebration so far! The 1.9 update is now available to everyone, so go here if you have not downloaded the update currently.

So, in today’s post, I have some something unusually different to discuss. It is going to be a short discussion on the brands of Club Penguin Island. Now, when I mean brands, I mean companies or businesses that operate in-game. Why should we discuss this? Because it could bring a lot of potential to the island. In fact, this post is not merely a discussion, it is an idea that could work on Club Penguin Island!

Previously, I asked the question “Can Crate Co. become huge?”. If you haven’t checked out my first idea concept on this blog, you can do so right hereAt the moment, Crate Co. is just a game involving throwing snowballs at targets to retrieve a package. It is a fun, teamworking game although it pays very little! On the other hand, that’s it. I proposed the idea of turning Crate Co. into a business that allows penguins to send postcards and gifts to other players (similar to Club Penguin). This way, it would make the business seem more effective and it would give people a reason to visit the building in Mt. Blizzard.

Anyway, this idea will be stemming from that concept and broadening it to the whole of brands on the island. Other than Crate Co., we have the Foodtrekker, Franky’s, Igloos & Interiors and a mysterious brand that we will discuss later in the post.

Here’s my overarching concept of this idea…

For each business/brand, there should be a system which will allow penguins to earn money and exclusive rewards. Just like a job in the real world, each company will expect whoever signs up for them to get the job done. For example, at Franky’s, you need to be able to bake up 10 pizzas in one day. Or, for Igloo & Interiors, you need to be able to craft a certain amount of furniture a day. How will this work? Through mini-games external from the zones. Franky’s could have a game similar to Pizzatron 3000, and Igloo & Interiors could involve a game similar to Bits & Bolts. A decent amount of coins should be rewarded to the player, and they can earn certain rewards from participating in goals/challenges set over different periods of time, e.g. through playing this game for 7 days straight, you earn a bonus amount of coins or a clothing item.

The Growing Business of Crate Co.

What if Crate Co. was Bigger 2.png

Hello, everyone!

As Club Penguin Island grows, there will always be features added to improve the player experience and to add more depth to the online virtual world. Fortunately, we have a team that listens to its community. We can have the power to determine what goes into the game. Therefore, it is vital that we strive to be ambitious with our ideas no matter how big or small they are. If we want Club Penguin Island to be the best game it can be, we need to raise our voices on some features that would benefit the game, from our point of view. Whether the Club Penguin Island team takes it into consideration or not, that’s not up to us. We are here to inspire them and we must understand that not all of our ideas will make it into the game. In fact, they rarely do. Nonetheless, we can keep on sharing our ideas with the team and show passion with everything we come up with.

In this post, I am going to be sharing an idea that could allow a fun, interactive experience for penguins on the island.

Let’s say Crate Co. decides to expand the business…

Especially as we enter the holiday season on Club Penguin Island, the ability to purchase gifts for other players would be something very special. We know that the company responsible for the island’s deliveries is Crate Co. They are based in Mt. Blizzard but don’t appear to do much, currently. In fact, the only thing you can do is throw snowballs at lots of targets to successfully retrieve a package full of coins. What if it were more than that?

Crate Co. can become something huge on Club Penguin Island. Imagine if we could send gifts and postcards to other players? Postcards kinda died out on Club Penguin but there is much potential on Club Penguin Island. I believe this feature could be very popular.

Turning on: Dream Mode…

So, you waddle up to the Crate Co. base at Mt. Blizzard and there’s a market interface (like with every other market in the game). On this market are special items that can only be sent through the mail. In the catalogue of items, you would have the usual food items and party supplies on offer. As well as these, you can send seasonal trinkets that can be limited edition. For example, during the Holiday event, you could send your friend a snow globe. This would possess the same function as a food item. When you hit the action button, your penguin interacts with it by shaking it around, and then it disappears. During Halloween, you could send them a gag! So, when the penguin opens it up, they will be scared by a bunch of bats or some silly string. There are many possibilities that can come with this!

These things would come at a small price and the catalogue of these special, seasonal items would constantly rotate as the year progresses. Sound cool, huh?
